How do I make an order with Open Food Network?
To make an order with us, follow the link to the appropriate Open Food Network shop:
Carlton:
Flemington
You can only make an order when the ‘order cycle’ is open. This means:
Fitzroy: you can order Wednesday - Monday 5pm (for pick-up on Tuesday)
Pakenham: you can order Friday - Wednesday 5pm (for pick-up on Thursday)
Carlton: you can order Saturday - Thursday 5pm (for pick-up on Friday)
Flemington: you can order Sunday - Friday 5pm (for pick-up on Saturday)
Go to the ‘Shop’ tab and place your order. To go to payment, click ‘Cart’ in the top right-hand corner and then click ‘Checkout’.
Choose your pick-up location from the options available and process payment with Stripe. If you would like a subscription, write ‘Subscription - weekly’ or ‘Subscription - fortnightly’ in the ‘Special instructions’ and see below for further instructions.
Click ‘Place order’ and your order will be confirmed! You’ll receive an email as confirmation as well. This will contain the instructions on how to pick up your order too.
How do I set up a subscription?
If you would like a weekly or fortnightly subscription of the same order each week, the first step is to make your first order as above and write ‘Subscription - weekly’ or ‘Subscription - fortnightly’ in the ‘Special instructions’.
The order you make will be the exact order we set you up with for the subscription. For example, if you order a $20 box and eggs, we’ll set up the subscription for a $20 box and a dozen eggs.
The extra step we need you to do that will allow us to set up the subscription is to allow us to charge your card each week. To do this:
Go to your account (orange person icon in the top right hand corner, then Account (your email…).
Click on the ‘Credit cards’ tab
Make sure your default card is accurate under ‘Saved cards’
The important step: Tick the box next to the appropriate store under ‘Allow charges’ - this is what allows us to set up a subscription that charges your card each week (note some details have been blocked out below)
Once this is done, we’ll set you up with a subscription starting the following week!
How can I change my subscription?
You will receive an email each week when the order cycle opens to say you have had an order automatically created for you. In this email, there will be a link that says ‘make changes’ (see to the left). You have until the end of the order cycle (normally two days before the day of pick-up but it will state when exactly in the email) to change that week’s order. You’re not charged until the end of the order cycle.
If you can’t find this email, you can also go to your account and your current orders will be available in the ‘Orders’ tab. Here, you can edit or cancel.
From there, you can:
cancel your order
change the quantities of your regular items
remove items of your regular order
For example, if you normally get one $30 box and one dozen eggs, you could remove the eggs for that week.
If you would like to change your order altogether for just that week, you can simply cancel that week’s order and make another completely new order. For example, if you normally get a $40 box but only need a $20 box that week, cancel your order and make a new order for a $20 box before the end of the order cycle.
If you:
need to pause your subscription for a longer period of time OR
you want to change your regular order (for example, you normally get a $20 box each week but want to upgrade to a $30 box indefinitely)
please email hello@thecommunitygrocer.com.au and we can pause or adjust it for you.
